Yuletide: Niger CP directs Area Commanders, DPOs to beef up security

Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, has tasked Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to ensure adequate security before, during and after the Yuletide festivities across the state.

He directed his officers to deploy police personnel and operational assets to dominate public places, most especially places of worship, recreation centres, amusement parks and other social convergence facilities.

The CP gave the directive in Minna on Thursday.

He also charged the officers to strictly adhere and enforce the operation order drawn for the season and ensure intelligence-led and high visibility policing across the highways in the state for security of travellers and free flow of traffic for road users

” This is also in addition to township patrol of operation flush and constant raids of black spots, as proactive measures put in place for crime prevention, and quick rapid response for intervention in case of any incident,” he said.

Danmamman also urged members of the public be law abiding, orderly and vigilant before, during and after the Yuletide, and continue to support the Police with adequate information towards achieving a peaceful atmosphere.

“We also assure Nigerlites of our continued commitment in providing security, maintenance of law and order, and protection of lives and properties among other duties,” he added.
