Zidora Africa @Play: “We Want Gold and Finish in First Place”: Mozambique’s Taekwondo Team coach Rajak Kang Sets High Targets for the All-African Games

Rajak Kang, the manager of Mozambique’s Taekwondo team, shared his team’s ambitions and preparation strategy for the All-African Games.

The games, which are set to start on Sunday, will see teams from across the continent vying for top honours, Sports247 reports.

“We are training hard every day. We hope we can bring good results for Mozambique,” Kang stated, highlighting the team’s rigorous training regimen and their determination to excel in the competition.

When asked about the team’s targets for the games, Kang was unequivocal. “The same as all. We want gold and finish in first place,” he declared. This ambitious goal underscores the team’s confidence in their abilities and their commitment to making their country proud.

Kang also revealed that the team comprises four athletes – three males and one female. In addition to their own events, the Taekwondo team is also there to support their compatriots in the volleyball team.

“We bring just four, three males, and 1 female. And we came now just to see a volleyball match because we have a volleyball team here. So we bring the taekwondo team to give power and support to the volleyball team,” he said.

When asked about the Nigerian Taekwondo team, Kang had high praise. “They are very strong. We used to see them training there and I think that you have a good team. And we see them on the mat,” he said, acknowledging the strength of their competition.

As the Taekwondo competition approach, the spotlight is on teams like Mozambique’s Taekwondo squad, whose dedication, resilience, and spirit of competition promise to make their country proud on the international stage.

Their story serves as a reminder of the power of sport to inspire, unite, and bring out the best in individuals and nations.
