Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno State, along with former governors Babatunde Fashola and Kayode Fayemi, joined other notable Nigerians in recommending the sustained progress in the ICT sector.

During the unveiling and official launch of the book “A Scholar’s Journey: Navigating Academia,” authored by Prof. Isa Pantami, former Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, the leaders emphasised the need to build upon the achievements in the ICT sector.

Zulum, serving as the Chairman of the occasion, praised Pantami for his role in developing the ICT sector, highlighting its contribution to diversifying the economy and generating non-oil revenue.

Fashola recalled the government’s growth in ICT project clearance and emphasised the importance of reading, stating that knowledge is transforming the world.

He urged Nigerians to embrace the new realities of the Internet and Artificial Intelligence.

Fayemi acknowledged a significant increase in broadband penetration contributing to digital economy growth.

Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, former Executive Secretary of the National University Commission (NUC), lauded the well-written and structured book as a valuable asset for those aspiring to excel in the digital economy.

Pantami, in his remarks, emphasised the lasting impact of the written word and stated that the book documented his 20-year experience to provide mentorship and guide younger individuals away from future mistakes.

The event, attended by dignitaries such as former Ministers of Justice Abubakar Malami and Aviation Femi Kayode, as well as Minister of State for Budget and National Planning Clem Agba, highlighted the significance of the ICT sector in Nigeria’s development.

Other notable figures present included Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, former Gov. of Gombe State Sen. Danjuma Goje, and the Emir of Gombe Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar.
