Ryan Garcia has already promised Shakur Stevenson that he’ll fight him next after Devin Haney.
The rival American lightweight contenders are set to meet on April 20 in New York, and the build-up to the bout has been unusual to say the least.
Garcia has been incredibly active on social media since the pair’s media tour at the start of this month.
In a series of posts and livestreams, the 25-year-old has made a slew of bizarre conspiracy claims and outlandish remarks.
Garcia’s team are adamant their man is still of sound mind and fine to proceed with training for the fight.
On Wednesday night, he did indeed seem fully cognisant as he hosted a Twitter space and was joined by rival Stevenson.
The pair exchanged trash talk about their amateur clash before getting down to business.
Stevenson asked: “Will you fight me, if you win April 20? That’s the question.”
Garcia answered: “I want the rematch with Tank. If I can’t get that rematch, we’ll start talking.”
He is of course referring to Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, who knocked him out last year.
Stevenson was exasperated and replied: “Oh my God, oh my God.”
But Garcia insisted: “I do bro, I’ve been telling everybody that since the beginning.”
Garcia then referenced a recent interview he’d conducted and added: “But I told Charlamagne tha God that I would fight you, did I not?”
Stevenson hit back: “No, you barely said it, you said hardly anybody know me.”
Garcia then responded: “I didn’t know people wanted to watch it. Did you know? I didn’t know. Ain’t nobody told me to fight you.”
And Stevenson said: “Stop it bro, you can stop capping. You’ve been exposing everybody, being real, keep it real my boy.”
Garcia stood his ground though, as he replied: “So I fought Gervonta, I’m fighting f***ing Devin. You don’t think I’mma fight you? Why would I not fight you?”
To which Stevenson answered: “Okay, so can you give me your word if you come out victorious, f*** it, even if you don’t come out victorious – will you fight me next?”
Garcia confirmed: “If I don’t get the rematch with Tank, I would do it. You have my word. If I don’t get the rematch with Tank, you have my word, we’ll fight.”
A pleased Stevenson responded: “That’s all I wanna hear.”
