Nollywood actress and Media Personality Nancy Isime has emerged Winner of Net Honours Most Popular Media Personality of the Year. Announcing the winner on Friday, December 22, 2023, Nancy Isime beats other nominees Kie Kie, Toke Makinwa, Bolanle Olukanmi and Bisola Aiyeola to clinch the prestigious award, after a competitive voting process.
Born on December 17, 1991, Nancy Isime is a television presenter and actress, whose acting career began in 2011 with the TV series Echoes.
Having acted in over 40 movies, Isime has starred in some of Nollywood’s critically acclaimed movies, including Kambili: The Whole 30 Yards, Superstar and Blood Sisters. In 2023, she starred as Shalewa in the Nigerian crime thriller, Shanty Town, and as Victoria in Funke Akindele’s five-part feature She Must be Obeyed.
Isime’s outstanding performance in her movie roles has made her enjoy undeniable popularity among Nigerians. In the last two years, Isime has been nominated for Net Honours award four times, showing her relevance in Nigeria’s entertainment industry. Although Isime was nominated for two categories in this year’s award; Most Popular Media Personality, and Most Popular Actress, she has lost her stitch to become Nollywood’s most popular actress twice to Funke Akindele. In 2022, she won Net Honours Most Searched Media Personality.
Since the inception of NET Honours in 2013 by NETng, in 2013, the award has become one of Africa’s verified data-based awards that celebrate Nigerias’ favourite celebrities and public figures for their contribution towards shaping the Nigerian entertainment industry.
